About the Artwork
Family After the Fire captures a haunting yet powerful image of unity after chaos. The figures stand together once again, but the environment has changed, fire surrounds them, signaling that something has already burned.
Despite the destruction, the family remains intact. Their posture suggests endurance rather than innocence. This is no longer the untouched image of “family,” this is family that has been through something.
The presence of fire in the background reinforces the idea that transformation has already taken place. What once was hidden has been revealed, and what was fragile has either broken or strengthened.
The composition mirrors earlier moments in the series, but with a deeper weight, showing that while the structure may look the same, the meaning has shifted entirely.
As part of the We Mi Casa Su Casa collection, this piece represents resolution. It asks the viewer: What does family look like after everything has been tested?
