About the Artwork
Veil of Rage captures the tension between visibility and concealment. The figure stands composed and styled, yet partially obscured by a translucent veil. The fabric does not fully hide. It softens, filters, and distorts.

Within the Pretty Hurts collection, this piece represents the controlled expression of anger. Rage is present, but it is managed, styled, and contained within what is socially acceptable. The veil becomes symbolic of that boundary. It allows emotion to exist, but only in a way that can be seen without disruption.

The posture remains strong. The styling remains intentional. Yet there is a subtle resistance in the composition. Something beneath the surface is pressing forward, even if it is not fully revealed.

There is a duality in the work. Beauty and tension. Control and pressure. Expression and restraint. The figure exists within all of these at once.

This piece invites the viewer to consider how often emotion is filtered before it is shown. What is hidden in order to remain composed? And what happens when that veil is no longer enough?
